Santa came to our house!!!

...but before we tell you about that, here is our first go at making cupcakes in our cool-bake oven. Thank you, Thank you! to our friends Dawn, Javon, and Cade for this very fun gift.

Chefs at the ready:

Batter is mixed and in the oven:

Erin's is finished baking...

...and so is Megan's:

The finished products:

After going to Christmas Eve Communion at church (our first time in big church and our first time taking communion), Daddy's family came to our house for our traditional sandwiches and presents. Our aunts don't get to come down from Atlanta much, and we don't get up their way much, either.

Then it was off to bed to go to sleep real fast so that Santa could come to our house.

We got pillows from Mommy and Daddy this morning, along with the things from Santa. They match the sheets on our bunk beds!!

Santa brought a scooter for us. Mommy says we'll get another one. Apparently, the second one the elves made was broken, and Santa wouldn't give us a broken toy.

We also got Rock Band!!! Erin specifically wanted this, every time she saw it in the stores, but Mommy said she couldn't have it. Santa decided to give it to us as a family present.

Merry Christmas from our house to yours!

We hope you got a Christmas card from us already, but we thought we'd share a few of the decorations that we have in our house.

Of course, we have a tree! This one is new to us this year. The old one got its plug smashed and was dangerous to use.

Here are a few of Daddy's nutcrackers and a nativity set. There's a new one from Hershey's next to Mickey. So many of the nutcrackers are falling apart, since we have to keep them out in the heat.

This is one of three calendars we're keeping to see how close we are to Christmas. This magnetic set was a gift from Grandma. We also have a felt tree with ornaments and a paper/stickers set with numbered stars to put in the sky over the nativity.

That's it for now. We hope you're as ready for Christmas as we are. Is it Christmas Eve yet?

Erin's dancing showcase

A few weeks ago, mommies and daddies were invited in for dance class. Here's a bit of what they saw.

Can anyone name this ballet position?

How 'bout this one?

Perhaps this will help?

Actually, it probably wasn't a position at all...

Our trip to Pennsylvania

Now that we're home and somewhat settled back in, we thought we'd share a few pictures from our trip.

We stayed overnight at the Red Roof Inn in Rocky Mount, NC on the way up. We we woke up Friday morning, we saw...SNOW!!!

(Daddy's car before he turned it on)

(The grass at the hotel)

We stopped and saw Chris, Sara, and Josiah Greenwood just outside of Washington, D.C., and then it was northward to Mama and Papa's house.

On the way there, we saw some signs we thought a friend of ours would enjoy, so we took some pictures:

One of the best parts of going to Pennsylvania is spending time with our cousin, Emily! She's older than us, but we play very well together, once she realizes that we're not little anymore, just like her.
Here we are before the snow all melted. See, Papa has a John Deere! It comes in handy during the winter, hauling firewood and clearing the driveway.
We spent just a little bit of time outside playing. It was too cold most of the time. This one's blurry, but Daddy isn't at fault this time. Just hard to keep up with us swinging these days. Changing shutter speed would take too much effort on Mommy's camera.
This is Bailey. You can see the tree in the background. We had Christmas time before Thanksgiving. We hear that Christmas still hasn't come yet, so we're just a little confused.
This was one of Mommy's favorite presents, Wii Music. What you see here is Mommy, Sam Yoder, Kim Yoder (posing as a younger version of cousin Emily Hartman), and Arie Yoder comprising a handbell choir. With lots of practice, they could ring a decent tune.
We'll post some of Erin's dance class stuff soon.

Papa's Last Day!

Today was Papa's last day to work at Hershey. After 38 years, he is done with his job. We went to see him and visit the factory store. Now to get ready to exchange Chistmas presents with Mommy's side of the family tonight...and then Thanksgiving tomorrow.

Hello from Mama and Papa's house!

Well, we made it up here safely for Thanksgiving and to exchange Christmas presents. We took some pictures along the way, including some time in the snow. Somehow the cable to plug in the camera didn't make the trip with us, so we'll post pictures when we get home. It sure is nice to see this side of our family. We're having the most fun playing with Bailey, Mama's and Papa's Shih Tzu puppy.

Cade Comes to Visit!

How exciting! Cade came to our house on Friday night! Oh, Dawn and Javon came, too. We were so excited to have them at our house. We even got to hold Cade for a little bit.

Daddy likes watching The Big Bang Theory

Who'd imagine there's a show featuring nerdy science guys on network television? AND it made it to a second season. Here's one clip that had some funny moments, even without knowing any of the science terminology that often aids in getting the punch line:

Halloween

OK, some people were giving Mommy and Daddy a rough time cause we didn't have any pictures from Halloween on our blog. Well, here ya go :) This is a picture of us and our friend Dixon.

And here we are at Miss Teresa's house.

There will be more to come once we get the pictures Mommy took with Javon's camera.

Welcome to our world...

Cade Ashton Longieliere
Born 11/3/08 to Dawn and Javon,
weighing in at 7 lbs., 12 oz.

We got to see him on his first trip to
Post Partum to see his new family!
That nurse was so nice to recognize
that we couldn't go back to see him
and stopped ever so briefly in the
hallway to give us a moment.

See Javon's blog for pictures.

When I'm all grown up...

what'll I be?

I decided to be a preschool teacher tonight and read a story.

We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Happy Birthday, Javon!

That's right, two birthdays in a row. We hope you have a great day...or whatever's left of it when you wake up. We're probably just about done with school or are already home when you read this.

You like to call our computer room your second office. That's not so bad--it means that you're at our house, and we really like it when you're here. Do you think Cade will be sharing today, or will he wait for his own special day?

[Photo deleted to protect the dignity of the birthday boy.]

Happy Birthday, Aunt Amelia!

We're glad you had a good day today. We wanted to come to a party, because we think everybody should have a party on their birthday. Here's a good memory we have with you.

'Mong the stately pines of Georgia

(That's how Valdosta State's Alma Mater begins)

This was Homecoming week at VSU. We went to the parade last night, the Alumni Tailgate Party, and the first part of the game today.

Here we are after the parade.

Look who else was at the parade!

We decided to bring our personal photographer along to tailgate. Actually, he kinda just came for the food. Brides, you may want to keep an eye on him at the reception.

This was Tucker Pruitt throwing for a touchdown right in front of us. A win for the the Blazers, but the offense has to start playing better if we are going to challenge for another national championship.

Alma Mater
‘Mong the stately pines of Georgia
Glorious to the view
Stands our noble Alma Mater
Basking ‘neath the blue.
Alma Mater, thee we honor
Praises never fail,
For thy fame shall never perish,
Red and Black — all hail!
Alma Mater’s sons and daughters
Ever will be true.
Always to thy heart returning
Dear old V.S.U.
Alma Mater, thee we honor
Praises never fail,
For thy fame shall never perish,
Red and Black — all hail!
Words by Helen Allen Thomas (’21) and Evelyn Brown (’24).
Music by Dr. John Huxford, Professor Emeritus of Music.

Fire Prevention Week

Sorry we haven't reported much on preschool this year. With our extracurricular schedule, we don't have a whole lot of time to tell you what's going on.

We did have the Blazers visit school again this year. Megan hasn't changed that much. She still likes the team, doesn't want to get close to them in person, and definitely doesn't like Blaze.

Last week, the firemen came and brought their truck. We learned some very important things from them. Most importantly, we got to check out the truck!

Wildcat Fans and Our New Beds!

Grandma got us some "Future Wildcat Cheerleader" shirts for our birthday and we couldn't wait to wear them to the Cats Game!

While we were at the Cats Game with Daddy, Mommy was working very hard to wash our new sheets for our new bunk beds. Our new beds were Mommy and Daddy's birthday present to us and we sure do love them!

We told some people that Erin was going to sleep on the top bunk, but today we changed our minds. Erin said that she wanted to sleep on the bottom bunk so she can get to the potty quickly if she needs to. So Megan decided it would be OK to sleep on the top bunk.

Here we are!

Here's Erin on the bottom bunk!

And Megan on the top bunk!

And here we are saying our prayers for the night.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Mommy and Daddy for our bunk beds. We really, really love them!!

Bakery Fun!

This week is "Bb" week at school and we got to go to a Bakery! The people at The Red Velvet Bakery were so nice to let us come to their store and show us how to make cupcakes. We got to put icing on our own cupcakes and eat them. They were so yummy!
