Merry Christmas

Yes, we've pretty much abandoned the blog. You know, we're halfway through our year of Kindergarten. That means we're just about grown up. In fact, we figure we can make our own decisions more and more these days. Sometimes the consequences are not very pleasant, but we're not backing down. We have personalities, and we're not done letting the world know!

Merry Christmas!

6th Birthday!

Here are pictures from our 6th birthday. Hope you enjoy them! We had a gret time on the day of our birthday! Mommy brought cupcakes to our class and they were yummy. After school, we went to K-Kids at church. After that, Mommy and Daddy took us to Sonny's for our birthday dinner. When we were finished eating, we got to open our presents. So excited to finally get our own Nintendo DS's!

Here we are at our birthday party! Mommy made us a bowling ball cake and we had so much fun bowling with our friends!

Sallas-Mahone Pledge

Sallas-Mahone, I honor and serve
My very best it does deserve
I'll be kind and share with others
While at school we're sisters and brothers
I'm responsible for what I do and say
I'm ready to learn and have a good day

The Sound of Music!

Our aunts surprised us with tickets to The Sound of Music at the FOX Theatre in Atlanta today. Mommy and Daddy didn't tell us anything about it. We came home from school on Friday and found out that we had to get in Daddy's car so Mommy could take us to Atlanta. At that point, a surprise sounded good--but it was a long day! We had a great time, and we're glad we had a chance to get up to Atlanta and see them. Presents are nice, but the best part is doing something with them. We may need a nap after church tomorrow to recover.

In Pennsylvania!

We've made it to Mama and Papa's house. It was a pretty good trip, and we're being pretty responsible girls thus far. We're going to experience some things while we're up here, but cooler weather may not be one of them. It's so hot up here that Mama decided to buy a little inflatable pool.

Cheernastics and Piano Camp

Here we are at Piano Camp. We really enjoyed learning how to play the piano. We got to learn about note values and the notes C, D, & E. We'll finish our book by learning the notes F & B. Mommy is going to help us with the last few lessons since we didn't get to them during camp.

Here we are at Cheernastics Camp. We had a lot of fun learning all about cheerleading. We still do our cheers all the time. Just a few differences in opinion on how they should go!

Just checking in

We've made it through the busy part and are finding things to do this week. Today we're going to spend the day at Grandma's house. Only nine more days until we go to meet MaMa and PaPa and go up to Pennsylvania for a while. Can you believe this weekend is Independence Day?

We have some stuff from Piano camp, but we don't know when we'll get it on here to show you.

Summer sure is busy!

We just finished the week of Vacation Bible School at church. We really like the songs, and we got to bring home a CD to sing along with. Daddy isn't thrilled, but we sure like them!

Tomorrow begins the week of Cheernastics Camp. We go to the YMCA Gymnastics gym for 3 hours each day and probably don't get naps, so let's hope we keep enough energy to make it through.

The next week is Piano Camp, which shouldn't be too tiring, but we don't know much about it. Do you think either of us will like piano? We hear Grandma was pretty good at it, Daddy took lessons as a little boy, and Aunt Jennifer played some in college...

We then have about a week or so to do nothing of an organized sort, and then it's just about time to head to Pennsylvania for most of July. Lots of stuff to do this summer, but we're having a good time doing it. Just wish we didn't miss our pre-k classmates so much.

Mommy made it to Montepulciano

Mommy called this morning just to let us know she was in the town where they're singing and basing their day trips. We watched her flight from Charlotte go through some storms and then leave the country until bedtime. While she was waiting to leave Charlotte, we were eating supper at Red Lobster. Megan lost her tooth, true to form. NEVER loses one at home! The tooth fairy did show up, despite Mommy's absence, and left the customary dollar. We'd show you some pictures, but Mommy has the camera. We're also trying to camp in the back yard, but two nights in a row, we've had thundershowers. Tomorrow night is our last chance, since Daddy has to work Tuesday through Friday. Sure hope Mommy has a good time and comes home on schedule!

Swimming Lessons-Year 2

Here we are at Coach Tucker's pool for year 2 of swimming lessons. We are doing really good and should be swimming on our own in no time. Maybe on more year of lessons and we'll be really good :)

Kindergarten Field Trip & Last Day of Preschool

OK, so mommy has been really busy these lasat couple of weeks. But she finally has a little bit of time to put some pictures from our Kindergarten field trip andd our last day of preschool on the blog.

Megan writing her favorite letter and then drawing a picture of something that starts with that letter. She chose M as her favorite letter and drew a picture of herself!

The teacher asked for someone to come up and point out the circle. Guess who raised her hand first and was called on!

The school year is winding down...

You can tell because Megan had her Gymnastics, Erin is having her recital...and K-Kids had their end-of-year program tonight. We had several songs, all a part of a program that loosely tells the story of the Good Samaritan. Erin was more or less a priest, and Megan was an inn keeper.

Megan's Gymnastics Exhibition

We had our first experience with Gymnastics Exhibition Friday at 3:30. There are so many kids that they can't get them all in on Saturday, and they have to start really early on Friday. Do you think Megan will still be interested in a few years? We saw some boys in Level 4 through 8, and it took Megan all year to finish the first half of Level 1!

Here's the vault. Last year you could really tell when megan hit the springboard from the sound it made, but she's moved up to a sturdier model, and it doesn't produce the same effect, but it does help her jump!

Work on the bars is the scariest thing Megan has encountered. With a special private lesson, she's proficient at some basic skills.

Megan really enjoys the beam! Too bad they're way in the back and hard to get good pictures of.

She hardly ever falls off anymore...

That's cousin Lena checking out the action, while Megan and her group do their Best of Both Worlds routine.

Tumbling anyone?

OK, now to get back up...

What a beautiful medal! Megan's a star for sure.

Here's what Megan's first Level 1 star looks like.
