Our trip to Athens for the Gym Dogs meet

We went to Athens on February 12th during the snow. We went to see the UGA Gymdogs. At first we were told that it was cancelled. After awhile, we checked the internet and it said that the meet was still on. So we got ready in a hurry and mommy drove through the snow to get us there. We missed the first half of the meet, but we got to see 2 rotations. We saw the balance beam and the floor exercise.

Here we are having a snowball fight with Mr. Bruce

Here is the snowman that we got to make.

Professional Dance Coverage

The pictures take with Javon's camera are available in part on Facebook. We'll post some here later. Now to get excited about the gymnastics meet! Oh, yeah. Erin has dance observation on Thursday, so there's an outside chance that we'll have something from that, too.

About the dance...

Our evening started with picking up our friend, Javon, to accompany us to the dance. He was late getting ready due to a trip to the bank. If you can count on one thing, it is Javon being late! So once he was ready, we went to Chick-fil-A North Valdosta to enjoy a nice dinner. It really was! The cow was there, and they had tablecloths, flowers, and floating candles all set up! To top it off, our kids meals were FREE!!!! Compared to the other options, Daddy certainly came out ahead at the register!

We got to the dance after it started, wich meant there were no parking spaces but no line to get in the door, either. Daddy made a parking spot, and off we went. We skipped the coat check, passed through the overpriced photo sessions, and handed in our tickets. We went on the dance floor for maybe one song, saw the Williams family, the Call family, and then decided we wanted to eat.

There were cookies, candies, pretzels, nuts, goldfish--so much food for us to try, we didn't know if we'd want to dance anymore! Daddy got what appeared to be a cheesecake-filled brownie, only to find a peanut butter core. He was disgusted!

We took our food outside, where it wasn't loud and it was a beautiful night. The clouds were breaking, and the stars were bright. We took a few pictures, saw some friends from church, and danced around until some daddies decided to start smoking.

Back inside, we lobbied for and received our first beverages of the evening. Megan had Sierra Mist, and Erin had water. Erin thought Daddy was her cupholder every time she had an urge to dance! We danced a bit, even doing the hokie pokie. After that, the crowd thinned out a bit, and we really unwound! We danced with Daddy, we danced with Javon, and we danced by ourselves. A little more dancing with Daddy, and the dance was over.

We got our second set of beverages and sat in the lobby while the crowd exited. A quick stop in the restroom with the assistance of some wonderful volunteers, and then a few last poses for the professional amongst us finished off the evening. We found little traffic as we exited and took Javon home to see Cade off to bed.

We had a great time this year, and we hope you'll enjoy these pictures. We'll let you know when/where the ones Javon and Daddy took with Javon's nice camera are posted.

Hugs and Kisses,
ERMA
